First of all if I had not had setbacks, I would not be a Spark Person. I have had weight struggles most of my life. (probably most of us here have had these) Usually when I have a setback, it is something I have done. It is up to me to figure out how to correct what I did (binging, overeating, etc. Or if it is an injury or something else, I must find a way to adapt and try to get back on track. I use as many self motivating aides as I can find. I subscribe to podcasts; I watch Oprah, I listen to the weight gurus. This year I had a breakthrough. I decided that what works for many may not work for me. I am keeping track of what I eat and I am exercising. I eliminated wine, white flour from my kitchen. I have learned to watch my friends have a glass or two of wine without feeling that to be sociable I need to join them. When we eat out, I try to check the restaurant's menu for calorie counts (fat and sodium too) I have endured the "you are just no fun anymore". It still makes me angry, but such is life.
I included SETUPS because often I have set unrealistic goals for myself. That part of my weight journey is behind me.
