Gotta dance!

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

SP (and everyone else) says to find an exercise you enjoy. Hmmmm...easier said than done. My hometown is too small to offer much in the way of dance and that's what I'd love to do. My dh has 2 new knees and no rhythm. While visiting Santa Barbara, I saw an ad in the paper about line dancing....free! I've attended 3 sessions and loved it. A nice lady offered me her cassette tape of music and written copies of the dance routines. Our rented condo doesn't have a cassette player, so I parked my car in an empty parking lot last night, turned on the cassette music and danced. I didn't burn too many calories, but sure had fun. Some of the ladies in the group are well into their 70's (maybe even 80's)..and they're shakin' their booties. I was swishing my skirt and twirling and having fun..exercising! Who'da thunk?!!

Dance, dance, dance! I'm so glad you were able to dance again. Maybe you could get a group together back home. You don't need a partner for line dancing -- just a bunch of happy people who love to move to the music.

Hello: Whoo Hoo on the dancing. I am sure it gave you a nice work out no matter how long it took. It is great that other people joined you. It is a lot of fun when you want to do something you like. Glad you had 3 sessions and liked it. That is good and it made you happy.
No matter how many calories you burned, you burned. Be proud of yourself for doing what you like and want. Way to go. Always be proud of yourself and happy what you have accomplished. It does not have to be about weight loss either.

You paint quite a picture of you dancing in a vacant lot under the moon and having a great time. I say... Power to you, babe!
