How th h$?? did this happen???

I started the gym last week Wednesday and the gym scale said I weigh 162.2 tell me why last night when I went at the gym back on the scale again it tells me 165.8?? Girl I was furious right there I wanted to stop going. I would rather if the scale didnt move than it going up. How comes I exercise exercise 5 days out of 7 and gain weight? I'm here trying to convince myself that its muscle and not weight. But when I look at my stomack I think thats where the fat went. I wanted to loose 10 lbs by May 18 and it dont even seems as if I'm going to. I need to get on a strick eatting habbit now because I cant go around like this. Its not even like I'm not trying I am. I even dont do school work to go to the gym and now this???????? Yes I know you can loose inches but not when the scale is going up and you see yourself getting bigger?

This is the same reason why I top working out last year. It seems as if when I work out I work out only to get fitter and not breathless so easily but what happens to the body? I want to go outside in the summer time and not have the belly hanging out. Dont get me wrong I want to be ffit too but I want to see where what I'm doing is paying off. I just started the gym so lets see if I can still accomplish my goal.

DO that mean I dont go on the scale until May 15th???????

    my first thought was: what time is it when you are weighing yourself? I weigh first thing in the morning, before taking even one sip of water. It makes sense that if you are eating and/or drinking water prior to getting on the scale, it may go up. Or maybe you're like me, and freaking hormones play a HUGE part of your weight. All I can say is: DON'T let one weigh in discourage you. In all likelihood if you went another week with good workouts & eating habits, next time you weigh it will be less, and it will all come out in the wash, so to speak.

    First off don't promise yourself 10 pounds by may 15 or what ever. I twill not happend if you are counting on it.
    The scale is a monster. The harder I try the more I don't loose weight. I am struggling myself. Just try your best. Eat right, exercise just keep moving.
    I wish I could say that this will pass it will but it just takes alot of time.

    Hey,

    What kind of exercises are you doing? Lets say, if you have fat to lose but your doing weight lifting, more than likely the muscles are getting bigger while under the fat, Ive always heard that you should do cardio to lose the fat, before weight lifting and strength training.
