Emotional eating....oh, yeah!

Monday, August 03, 2009

Well, my dh had his (second) heart ablation. He was on the "most difficult" list for the internationally known doctor to tackle. It's intricate; they put a tiny catheter into each of the three main arteries to his heart (one on each side of the groin and one through the throat). The catheters went inside his heart where they burned through scar tissue (or made new scar tissue) to open up the passage way for the electrical charge that causes the heart to pump properly. Yeah, pretty scary stuff. I mean s-c-a-r-y when you learn what could go wrong. He survived; the doctors believe they succeeded. ...and I ate....and ate.....

I tried not to....but ...my list is a mile long of why I "needed" food....

And now I've caught my dh's horrific cold and can hardly breathe between coughs and am sleeping in the basement so I don't give it back to him!

BUT my ST buddy is fighting a serious case of "I don't wanna, but is doing it anyway"...so tomorrow I will follow suit with the dreaded ST. With dynamite SP role models walkin' the walk instead of talkin' the talk, what choice do I have?!!! Thanks, Deborah, and all my SP friends for helpin' me climb back up on the wagon...again. I couldn't (and wouldn't) do it without your example and support!

You are so hard on yourself. What part of "be extra good to yourself" is unclear for you? You are dealing with an ENORMOUS amount of stress and your body gave you that cold just to put you down for awhile. I'm soooo glad that Charlie survived and the doctors think it went well. Now you can ease into celebrating with the healthy food you deserve. Let your body and spirit rest and heal. It's almost fall at your altitude, there will be time for getting back outdoors. Of course, in the meantime, a few close arm wall pushups couldn't hurt.

And thanks for reminding me that I don't have any excuses at all!
