Emotional Ups and down, down, downs (not on the scale tho)

Sunday, September 27, 2009

What an emotionally high week I had. Laughing like I haven't laughed in years! Good friends, fun, pursuits I care about, etc. Riding bikes with an 83 yr old friend who's legally blind in one eye and her second eye has "bled out" twice in recent months with macular degeneration. She's lost her husband, her home and her vision within less than six months....but she had her pants leg rolled up ready for the 6 mile bike ride 4 hours in advance! What an awesome woman...what an inspiration!

The there's my ridiculous, non-explainable weight gain. Two weeks on the road without healthy food, lots of entertaining, baking, sneaky eating when I got home (just like pre-SP). Now my sugar addiction has been resurrected (after 12 months in absentia), my clothes are tight and I'm soooo darn mad at myself. What a waste of hard, hard work.

OK.. I like your idea... detailed food plan for the next day and then stick to it! We've both done so well for so long, so we can't just give it up. And we won't. As long as we keep talking about it and planning and trying every single day. Sooner or later we'll get there. The trick is to just keep starting over. Never stop!

Okay, that was then, this is now. There's always time for a U-turn and as winter is fast approaching, you need to be driving a stake through the heart of that sugar addiction. And you will because you are one smart, tough woman who is not turning back.

Ugh - I'm right there with you. Tight clothes for the first time in 3 years. At least now we know what to do and have the tools to do it.

Sounds like an amazing woman...kudos to her. I understand the tight fitting clothed. I tossed all my fat clothes, so as I put weight on I knew if thing got tight the choice was lose weight or be naked. (and no way do I wanna be fat and naked...lol)
