Last Ride before the break....

After helping Judy and the vet with the horse at the rescue that went down, I had a chance to ride Falcao. I am amazed at how well my new body allows me to ride.
I hear it all the time. "I don't need to lose weight, it's the judges that are prejudiced against heavy riders". "I don't need to be fit, it's my horse that does the work."
Well, I once was one of these. No longer. I have news for them. The sport of dressage involves a lot of core strength and endurance. It requires a body that you can control when the horse does his thing at your direction. If physics is against you, I don't care what you say, it ain't gonna be pretty.
I have upped my core work, back to doing planks and ball work. I am determined to get my bronze medal. I just have 2 more scores at the next level up to get it. I CAN do it.
But first, we have to get past the championships next week.
Life is an adventure, and you can make more of it if you're fit! That's the biggest thing I've learned lately.
