Even when you know it's wrong

Even when you know it's wrong...the scale..it hurts. I have been so PERFECT at eating..I haven't been working out EVERY DAY..but I did go for a hike..6 miles mind you on Friday...so when I hop on the scale and it's 1 lb down it's like WTH?? DISGUST fills me..I have a moment of thinking..."I QUIT"..but I can't. I can't live like this. I know that my muscles are still likely retaining some water from the hike, it can take a few days for that to come off then sometimes that following week you have a big drop. And that's what I'm hanging onto...a nice drop next Sunday. Because if it doesn't happen, I will be very very down and that's when I will need the support, because this is when people crash and burn and through in the towel and say.."I try and I doesn't work". Hmph

1 Day Challenge Entry:
Your challenge today is to WRITE ON YOUR SPARKPEOPLE BLOG.

How are things going lately with your
calories, Things are going well. I SWEAR by the Spark Nutrition page, it really keeps me accountable for what I eat...good and bad.

exercise: I hiked 6 miles Friday but that was it for the week. I had company in town all week staying with me. I battle some spine issues and fibromyalgia, not an excuse, just a fact.

and outlook? Honestly...not good. I don't know why, but I just don't have a good outlook....I hope this changes for me.

Are you facing personal challenges? OH YEA...my spine

Are you celebrating a triumph? I should be, I have done really good this past 2 weeks. I am just in a slump right now emotionally, as I stepped on the scale and it was down a whopping 1 lb. It's tough to swallow when you feel you should lost more.

I want you to go down to your fridge and get a 1 lb butter and look at it. You have lost all that. Now you may have more 1 lb to loose, but for today that entire 1 lb is off of you.

This is not the biggest looser. We are not loosing 20 lb a week, we are just mere mortals. I am a 1 lb looser. I have the metabolism of a rock- but 1 lb a week will make you 4 lb lighter in a month and 52 lb lighter in a year...50 that's what you want to loose isn't it? hmmmm I have been trying to loose my 50 lbs for year and if I had stuck with it one year and I'd have been on maintanence. We all loose it one lb at a time...

You can do this. Don't have big expectations, just keep on keeping on. If you do it I will also- we can do this together.

BTW- the other thing I have found is that if the scale is not nice to me the tape measure often is- measure each week also=

You can do this- The only way you can fail is to give up. Sharon

Slow and steady. Yes, you need to lose 50lbs, but does it have to be tomorrow? Through all of my yoyoing I have finally learned that slow is the way to go! I am happy with a 1lb loss. B/c , in the grand scheme of things, that means 20lbs by swimsuit weather, and 40+ by next holiday season. And with your spine/fibromyalgia issues, exercise is going to be key...no need to overdo it, just find some time to add some in. Good luck and try not to get discouraged. emoticon
