Inspiration

Monday, February 15, 2010

For a spark team challenge, I need to write a blog entry about someone who inspires me. It's hard to pinpoint just one person because many different things inspire me.

My non-spark friend, Pam, is one that I always use as inspiration. She began eating healthfully when her father had a heart attack. She decided that was not going to happen to her. She reads labels and looks for organic food. She allows herself to indulge with a nibble of her favorite sweets. It's always so funny to open a box of donuts and find one with a sliver cut out of it. Everyone knows it's her, and someone finishes the donut for her. She can stop at just the one nibble, and I want to be like that.

Also, the show The Biggest Loser inspires me. I feel like I can do anything when I watch that show. If only the good feeling from that show lasted until the next week, I think I would be an exercise machine. haha.

Much like my BSG buddy, Christine (RICECHEX), I am inspired by the people who have what I would like. I try to hold onto that inspiration throughout the day. It's hard sometimes, but it's there if I just look for it.

But I always know that I can come to Sparkpeople and be inspired whenever I need it. On the BSG, by looking at the progress of any number of people here, or by reading board posts. I thank goodness for Sparkpeople every day!

I've found inspiration on SparkPeople too, and also with people in my life who pick a goal and just, stick to it no matter what

Ooo, I feel so special getting mentioned in your blog!

I used to watch the Biggest Loser, but it always seems like too much. They work out SO HARD, it feels overwhelming to me. But I'm glad it is motivating for you.

I do agree that having people to turn to on Spark is a big motivator. They seem more real to me than the people on TV. I'm so glad we all found each other! :-)

It is so impressive that your friend can stop at one nibble...really wish I could get there.

Thanks for writing your blog so quickly. You are right. There are a number of people--especially on SP--that are a daily source of inspiration. It really helps a lot.

emoticon Beautiful! I agree, I love watching the Biggest Loser and try to imagine Bob (that is who I would pick as a trainer) cheering me on to finish my workout. My sister-in-law is like your friend, she doesn't eat much and would eat fat free ice cream too! emoticon Me...I try to remember the mantra..."order big...be big". It works sometimes! Great blog! emoticon
