All journeys start with one step. My first step was finally knowing that if I was to lose weight, it would be for me, and not for someone else.
January 1st of this year, I decided I was tired of looking like a blob. If it was going to leave, I had to do it the same way I put it on, very slowly. I started drinking water all day instead of reaching for a soft drink. I only have a glass of tea a couple of days a week. The rest of the time, I drink water. Took me a while to like the taste, but it finally happened.
My weight on January 1st was 234 pounds. Now, on the 27th day of February, my weight is 222 pounds. That is a total of 12 pounds gone. In the big picture, it doesn't seem like much, but when you pick up two five pound bags of sugar and one two pound bag, it brings it into perspective. I no longer carry that weight with me every day. And looking toward tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, I will lose more each month. I plan to add to this blog in order for me to be able to look back on my journey through this lifestyle change in my life.
