I was watching "Good Eats" the other day and Alton was talking about how he lost 50 pounds without going on a diet. He ate fruits, leafy green vegetables, whole grains, nuts, carrots, and drank green tea every day, ate oily fish yogurt, broccoli, sweet potato, and avocado at least three times a week, limited red meat, pasta, and dessert to once a week, and stopped eating fast food, soda, processed meals, canned soup, and "diet" anything.

My husband and I thought eating like this would be easier than a DIET so I showed the plan to his doctor and he was going to share it with my doctor. I think that substituting less nutrient dense foods for ones that are on Alton's lists would be easier than temporarily changing our entire eating choices.

Passover is very important in our house so we are going to be starting this after Passover as we have already started cleaning and getting ready for the week long holiday.
