Day 4 & 5
Friday, March 12, 2010
Yesterday was busy and than it turned CRAZY!! I had a full school day and than a meeting that went from 6:30 until 8:45. Nothing to usual, until I got to my parents' to get the kids, than crazy hit. My son had managed to trip and land on the heal of my mom's boots and gashed open his chin. Butterflies were not going to cut it, so it was off to the emergency room. It wouldn't have been too bad, but the weather and the roads were awful!!

So the 35 minute trip took closer to an hour. Than it was an hour to get the 4 stitches in and another hour to get home. So we ended up getting home around midnight
If you have not had the joy of having a child get stitches, I suggest trying to keep it that way. My 3 year old, was not happy about the needle and medicine to numb the area and just as unhappy about the stitching process. It took 2 nurses, my mom and me to hold him still enough so the doctor could do his job

This is something I NEVER want to do again, at least not with such a young child.
So with all the adrenaline and driving in crappy weather, I couldn't fall asleep until around 1 and than was awaken at 2:30 by a crying boy and at 5:30 by a coughing girl. I DID make it through the whole school today and even got my half an hour of cardio in when I got home!
I have stayed on track the last two days and the scale said I had lost 1 lb since yesterday, probably water weight, but I'll take it. I am now hoping for a much quieter weekend on no more trips to the ER
Have a great injury-free weekend
