Goobye, Grandma

Tuesday, May 04, 2010

I guess this blog is in some ways a follow up to my last blog. In my last entry, I listed all of my family members that had been touched by cancer. I had mentioned that my grandma was in a memory care facility. On April 27th she passed away. We had her funeral over the weekend. It was the first time in about 4 years that all of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were all able to get together. It was good to see everybody.

She was a spunky, red-haired lady. She was known throughout the community for her perfect hair, twice daily walks, perfectly maintained yard, and pencil-thin legs. We as grandkids knew her for her extreme generosity, fun dangly clip-on earings, and her support for all of our sports games, dance & piano recitals, birthdays, and anything else that came along.

She will be sorely missed. I know she and grandpa are having a great reunion right now - he died 16 years ago, and she really missed him.
