Good reminder today

I receive the Healthy reflections email everyday and post a journal entry from it that often times is a reflection of the article. I have had a few that I received when I needed them most. Today was one of those days.

I get on my scale way to often, but I feel it keeps me going in the right direction because it keeps me accountable. I had a great weigh in through the weekend and even Monday morning. Today was another story though. I got on that scale and was not happy with the results.

Today's healthy reflections mentions giving yourself credit for what you have accomplished and not being to blinded by just what you want to accomplish. I really wanted to hit that 30 pound mark this week - I still may, but if not than 28 or 29 pounds is still a great accomplishment.

    Several times I've had good weigh ins, a day that it's up (or just not down the way that it should be), and then sometimes it is followed by an unexpected drop. I do weigh daily as well. I've tried to space it out, but I just like learning how I respond to sodium, etc like Donna mentioned. It helps me realize on those days that it doesn't show what I want that it will come down. You're doing great!

    I weigh daily to because I know if I don't I will get laid back. Weighing in daily also reminds me of how my weight fluctuates with fluids, salt intake and TOM.

    I also weigh daily. Doing it serves as a reminder that our weight fluctuates often (especially in the case of a gain so I don't get so frustrated) and also helps me with my sodium intake. Too much sodium leads to fluid in my ears, which causes vertigo for me. Vertigo can put me out of commission for several days. Whether you get to the 30 lbs. or not (I'm hoping to get to the 25 lb. mark next) this week, you are still moving in the right direction! emoticon

    28 or 29 lbs is awesome. I can't wait to get there. You are doing a great job and should be proud of yourself. Remember a healthy lifestyle is a lifetime commitment, not a race!!

    I just went through some similar emotions last month after having weights and measures for a BL contest at my gym. I blogged about how far I have come in the last year instead of pouting over those numbers. It really put things in perspective and helped change my thinking. Keep up the great work!
