Challenges help keep me in line!

I have to say that when I first started this journey I wasn't sure how I would keep myself motivated, and little did I know that I would continue to add different challenges to my schedule to do it.
I try to not overwhelm myself with too many at a time, but I've always got a few going at once. Of course one helps the other and vise versa.
I have blogged before about my Healthy U 12 week Challenge and we just had our 8th week weigh in. I am currently in the running for the money at the end, but the people in position 1 & 2 had a huge loss this week. My 3 pounds two weeks in a row didn't even catch me up. However, I'm 19.8 pounds doen in that challenge and happy with those results! As much as their unhealthy large percentage drops are frustrating to me, I also realize I'm the healthier one losing at a regular pace and not to much at a time. After all I want to lose that fat not my muscle.
I started another fitness class at the local college called Interval Training. I encouraged one of my co-workers who is also in the Healthy U challenge with me to also take the class. I had to laugh when he told me yesterday that he wanted to strangle me because he was so sore, but then he went a weighed in and he wanted to hug me because he did so well. It makes me happy to see him succeeding.
The other challenges I'm in are a team based one with the Biggest Loser Summer Challenge - Go Mahogany Melters! That requires weekly weigh in's as well and will go on past the Healthy U challenge. I think being accountable to others is also helping me stay very focused. The other team challenge is with the Positive Vibes team and keeps me striving for more fruits and vegetables. Both the team challenges also focus on exercise, which the class helps to fulfill too.
Challenges and I are still going strong!
