Have you ever went to your closet to get dressed and realized you had nothing to wear?! Seriously, I have never had this problem! My closet has always been overflowing with too much of everything in at least three different sizes. The size I wear, the size I wish I could wear and the size so small that I vaguely remembering having worn it in the mid 80's. Well, I have been purging my closet at the rate of two boxes of clothes a month. I had one huge purge in February or March and I went into my attic and found a box of clothes in a smaller size from years ago and refilled my closet. At that time, I also went to the Goodwill and bought 6 pairs of pants in a size that I could get into, but were a little on the snug side. I made sure all the pants had belt loops so that I could extend their usability. I'm not a wealthy woman and I can't buy a new wardrobe every three months.
So, today I purged out the last of the pants I just bought three months ago! They are huge on me! Further more, I pulled out the last of the pants from the 80's and now have four pair of pants and three skirts that fit. Oh, and the jeans I am wearing from circa 1984 will not be worn to work! The leg cut is cute, it flares a little which is in again, but they are the high waisted cut with no back pockets that make my butt look like a huge round drum! But, hey, they are my Gloria Vanderbilts, size 12 that I wore when I was 18. So, I'm wearing them!
I had to buy a couple new knit shirts. You know you've lost some serious inches when your tshirts are too big on you! A couple months ago, I had to start disciplining myself to stop buying size XL when I bought new running shirts. I would literally have to tell myself (out loud), you are not an XL anymore, don't buy XL. It was hard, I was so used to grabbing the largest size of everything and hoping it would fit. So, I have been buying Large t-shirts for a couple months. Now, they are getting big and I have to practice saying, you are not large, you are medium. MEDIUM!!! Here all these years I thought I was a BIG girl with broad shoulders and big bones. I am not! Who knew? Believe me, this came as a shock to me!
So, my closet is now a whole lot less crowded and I'm hoping to get near my goal by fall so that I can buy some pants that I love. I mean who wants to fall in love with the fit of a pair of pants and have to say good bye to them in a month or two? I'm very happy to be shrinking at a steady pace, but dressing cute and affordable is important as well.
Okay, to the food!!! This is what keeps me shrinking!!! Last month I decided to enlist some help to assist me in reaching my strength and weight loss goals. I had been following the weight loss and muscle gain of one of my Spark friends, NANCYANNE55 . I had met her on the Eating Clean team here on Spark. She was and is a fabulous role model for the over 40 crowd. Her results were phenomenal and got me thinking . . . maybe, just maybe I could accomplish more than just weight loss. Maybe I could build some muscle (which I love doing) and maybe my figure wasn't totally shot. So, over the months as she worked with Ruben (FLEXCHEF), I paid close attention and made a few gains on my own. Then I decided I really needed help . I kept getting off track and not sure of exactly what was right for me. So, emailed Ruben and asked for his input and what he thought was reasonable for me. After a consultation, it was decided, I needed Ruben on my team to help me to the next level. I must say, I was skeptical, at first. I am now a true believer that professional assistance from someone who knows how to get results is worth every penny.
LOW CARB DAY #1 - Saturday Breakfast
This is a Soy based 'sausage' like product I use
Mix it with my 4 egg whites and 1 whole egg and salsa
Stuffed into a whole wheat pita!!! Delicious!
LOW CARB DAY #2 - Sunday Breakfast
Soy based 'Chicken' like product I use. I had four strips as a side, instead of the sausage.
4 hardboiled egg whites and 1 hardboiled egg, mixed with Omega Heart Smart Mayonnaise to make an egg salad
Egg Salad in a whole wheat wrap
LOW CARB DAY #1 - Lunch
Chopped grilled chicken, cilantro, red onion, jalepeno, cabbage, lime juice, salsa and avocado! mmmmmmmm!
Loaded onto four large romaine lettuce leaves!

Tilapia and Broccoli with fresh grated parmesan! mmmmmmm!
LOW CARB DAY #2 - Dinner
Extra Lean Ground Beef sauteed with red onion and broccoli with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
LOW CARB DAY SNACKS: I have three 'snacks' a day each day, so they are the same for both low carb days.
Mid morning snack
Mid afternoon snack
I hope you eat something good today!
Just a funny picture from my 'celebration' yesterday of having gone from a size 22 to a size 12 in a year! A year can make a huge difference! Right now, I week makes a big difference in how my body looks and feels! I hope you are feeling good. If not, I hope that you know that you are worth the effort it takes to change that. If I can, you can. If you can't do it alone, don't worry, there are plenty of Spark friends right here for you!
Oops!!! I forgot the nutrition stats!!!!
