I have to say I have always been a veggie girl. Never really a "sweets" person... even when it came to fruit. I love my brussel sprouts, asparagus, squash, bell peppers, green beans, broccoli, eggplant... you name it... I have probably enjoyed it. But lately I have been trying to incorporate more fruit in my diet to balance out the gentle sweet cravings I have been having. So far... it has been so delicious! I dont know if its because I cut out other sweets that weren't very good for me so now my palette can appreciate the natural sweetness of fruit... but whatever it is... I'm in heaven.
This morning I had a large bowl of mixed fruit and it was so good! I savored every bite. A large chunk of watermelon followed by a slice of cantaloupe with a sneaky little blueberry and a bittersweet chunk of pineapple hiding the juicy green grape, only to cycle through the variety of healthy goodness in my bowl all over again. It was like a musical on my tongue! Juicy and full of flavor and without that overly jumpy "sugar high" feeling.
This concoction of mixed fruit brightened my morning and because I enjoyed it so much it made me feel better about myself. Healthy choices, healthy life, healthier me!
