I love living near the lake - took the dogs & son

We took the dogs on their first outing to the lake for a "swim test". The oldest one, usually the most timid, we were sure we would have to throw in and say sink or swim but he was the only one that wanted anything to do with it. He ran down the bank and started chasing the little waves. The funniest part was when he was trying to swim but he wanted to splash water in his face to bite so he would forget to paddle. The fat dog just wanted out of the water to chase ducks - I think he was afraid we might give him a bath. The puppy (a misnomer as he really is as big as the others) wasn't afraid but wasn't gonna go anywhere we couldn't protect him either & he is usually the brave explorer.

The 10 yo was quite another story. He was all excited to go go go but was so much the whiny cry baby when we got there that he was the reason we had to leave. He couldn't understand why he couldn't go play in the middle of the channel with the boats and all - no life jacket, etc. We had said from the beginning that we were going to let the dogs get wet but we were putting on bathing suits so it didn't matter it we got wet too. Anyway, we are struggling with what to do with his developmental issues and yesterday just got to both of us.

I know this was not anything about weight loss but it was a lot of exercise
