Great Balls of Fitness

One of the ways I kicked up my fitness after starting SparkPeople was to sign up for fitness classes at our local college. I have taken many different ones, but all with the same instructor. She offers variations so you can fit the workout to your level of fitness. The first class I took I thought would kill me and I struggled to make it through. I’m glad to say that I have come a long way since that class.
Tonight was the beginning of Great Balls of Fitness and the ball for this class was the stability ball. We will be using different balls like the bender ball, medicine ball, and Pilate’s ball depending on the night. I love the fact that the workout changes so your muscles are not use to the workout and it is more beneficial.
Even though the stability ball was used tonight it was a high cardio workout. We did bounces, jumping jacks, lunges, side steps while on the ball. We also did cardio with the ball in hand and after a while it gets a bit heavy. It is quite an interesting workout. I have done things on the stability ball that I didn’t know was possible.
