My first meeting with other Sparkers! And would you call it Kayaking?

When I first started at SP I was amazed that our little area had a local team. I quickly joined as I loved the idea of others close by doing the same thing as me. Our leaders are very good about posting activities that are going on in the area and sometimes creating their own activities. For the month of July they decided to have a Binghamton Spark Rally at a local park.
A few of the team’s members met at the park and had a pot luck lunch – all healthy and very tasty food was enjoyed by all. After lunch some of us went kayaking while others swam.
Our area is surrounded by rivers so when you say you went kayaking people imagine white rapids and kayaks that flip over. We kayaked on a lake with the type of kayak that your feet are still showing. I’m a newbie to kayaking so my ignorance shows here.
Anyway, it might have been more like paddling around in the lake, but it was a nice little workout and relaxing at the same time for someone like me that finds peace around the water. This won’t be my last time kayaking and maybe someday I will try it in a local river.
