August Log, Blog and Salad Challenge - Day 15

"...when up on the roof there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter..."
The roofers make more noise than 8 reindeer. They started last Tuesday, and have been here at 7 AM every day but the weekend. They couldn't work complete days twice because of rain. What a job. They plan to be done tomorrow.
Then the gutter crew will be here installing seamless gutters with screens. There are mature trees towering over the house that fill the gutters with leaves and plug the downspouts every Fall. The leaf blowers that the gutter-cleaning people use do not unplug the downspouts. The rain splashes up and over the sides of the gutters when we have a downpour.
For any of you that have screens on your gutters, do you have any problem with debris getting through? How much maintenance is required each year?

Grandma is laying on the couch.
Young grandson asks, "What's the matter, Gramma?"
Gramma replies, "Oh, nothing. I'm just out of sorts today."
Grandson ponders this, then says, "I'd give you some of my Sorts if I knew what they were."
My weekend went fairly well, but that old nemesis Procrastination got hold of me on Sunday when it came to posting on Spark. I procrastinated until I was too tired to do the usual postings. I finally gave it up after falling asleep over the computer a few times. Better late than never, so here is Sunday's blog.
Some of the things we track for the Challenge every day are:
Give three smilies on spark pages
Complete a post with all this info on the Challenge thread
We chose 3 things we wanted to work on this month.
I had slacked on logging, even though I know it is key to staying on track. The Challenge is good for me.
