August 17 One of the best days of my life

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

This is a VERY special day for me and I was not going to go to bed without sharing. 25 years ago today at 1:52 God gave me the honor of becoming Alexis Nichole Wright's mother. I was 3 months away from turning 25. Not sure if I wanted to be a mom at that time and was having problems with her dad. I really was not sure if I wanted to keep her. BUT I did and she has been the joy of my life. I say this with much emotion because I am not the June Cleaver mom type but I do know that within every thing that is with in me I LOVE this young lady. She has endured lots with her mom and lack of involvement with her dad(HIS LOSS) But she has managed to remain a level headed loving person who is willing to help her mom out it whatever way she could. She graduated Magnum Cum Laude with a degree in psychology and is looking to pursue her masters-doctorate in Psychology. I am sooooo proud of her and I thank God for her everyday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEXIS aka SUGGA my grandmother called her that from the first time she laid eyes on her Don't tell her I shared that bit of info

Oh Yeah
water 8.5 glasses
exercise none

She is beautiful! Great job raising such a nice young lady. I am so envious - I love Psychology, but when I returned to college with 2 young boys (and no support from dad) computers was the field to get into to make money to raise them. Tell her Congrats!

I hope I feel the same way about mine in 13 yrs time - you sounds absolutely brimming over with pride!

I don't know what Magnum Cum Laude means, but I've seen enough movies to know it's praiseworthy & coveted ... does it mean coming first (dux)? Could be a bit scary having a brilliant psychologist in the family though (LOL!).

That's wonderful. You may not think you are a June Cleaver mom, but you must be a wonderful role model for her.

But... God guides us when we don't know what we don't know and that is what I am thankful for... Give her a hug and my love and I look forward to meeting her one day..Happy Birthday!!!

And...there's no better feeling than being proud of your offspring.
