Open Day

Friday, August 20, 2010

Isn't it funny how there seems to be so little time these days! I thought when I retired I would have time to do whatever I wanted. WELL, let me tell you folks there seems less time now that ever, in more ways than one.

This is the first time all week I have had time to actually do some cleaning in the main part of the house. Yes, I worked hard cleaning in the basement the first of the week, but had to sacrifice the main floor for that.

Exercise, I think I like to use the excuse of no time to get by without doing what is really healthy for me. I always seem to tell myself there is no time. I have got to find the motivator to get me back into the swing of exercising regularly. I try to find things to do that doubles as exercise and things needing done. For example, come Sat. I will use the heavy moving/construction of mission work as exercise. I know that is good but it doesn't get me in to habit of actual exercise. I don't always have something to double so don't do the exercise.

I am not gaining weight right now but not losing weight either. I am getting more fat even though not gaining and I know that has to be from losing muscle and gaining fat. I used to walk regularly and do some form of strength also. Heat, time, tired, those are my excuses. I have got to quit that or I will lose the progress I have made these last 8 months. I have been at virtually the same place for several months and I KNOW that the only way to move is exercise. WHY WILL I NOT DO IT!!!!

You can do it! Sometimes you just have to do it ONCE to remember how good it made you feel. There are days that I dread running and sometimes I make an excuse not to go....but when I do go out, I feel awesome afterwards. So maybe commit to making time for exercise over the weekend so you can remember that feeling!
