We are soon moving into the last week of the PAT. (Rootin' For Ruby's Second Annual Labor Day Pound-A-Thon Challenge). That is a mouth full but no calories.
I pledged to lose 15 pounds. That is a bit much as the challenge is only five weeks long but some of those pounds were re-visitors. Is there even such a word? What I mean is, those pounds had been banished and were gone, only to sneak back on when I wasn't looking.
I did really well the first three or four weeks. Was able to turn my back on any and all temptations. And lost 11.25 pounds. Woo Hoo But looming over the horizon is September 2. Oh, my!!
That is my birthday and you know how birthdays go; full of celebration, and in our culture, celebration and food seem to mean the same thing. Why is that??
Some restaurants give a free meal on a person's birthday. Well, hey, who can turn away a freebie?? So this week, before such a momentous day, I find myself giving it a lot of thought. Now I could go to one in the morning and have a free breakfast, then another one at noon and have a free lunch and with no time for tracking my food that day, I could go to yet another for a free dinner. Is there maybe one who gives a free dessert later in the evening?? My tummy is starting to hurt just thinking about it, yet my mouth is salivating.
Is there even hope for me or am I a lost cause??
Of course, you all do know that I would never eat three main meals plus a dessert all on the same day. But the temptation is there, set forth by our culture and then we wonder why obesity is so rampant in our land. Sparks and my Spark friends are all here to tell me we can turn this around. All I can say is "Thank You!!"
