Mindless Eating / Binging

Thursday, August 26, 2010

As you might have noticed from my status update that last night I totally went over my calorie range! One thing that i've been noticing lately is that I am an emotional eater and I eat when I'm completely full. Last night we went out to dinner at Oreganos... the best Italian restaurant out in Phoenix, AZ! I came home completely stuffed, but there was a huge bag of Gold Fish lying in the living room that was given to us from the college students (my husband is a resident director for a college, so we live in a dorm). The bag was calling my name all night long. The temptation was no where to be found until my friends all left and my husband ran to the office to print some papers off for work around 10pm.

The bag is half gone :(
What's up with that? I don't know where that came from! I was completely full and satisfied from Oreganos and was at the limit of my calories. Now I'm 500 calories over and I raided the entire kitchen. There must be something deeper than just this.

Well today I'm vowing that for the next Month... up till the end of September, I am going to be Binge Free! Hopefully you all will keep me accountable and I will be updating on here every few days to keep you in touch with how I am doing.

... hopefully those dang 500+ calories that I went over on won't make me gain weight :( I was finally starting to feel a difference in my clothes.

I don't know what is in the water but I also have had the munchies the last few days and it is very disappointing. All we can do is start fresh and not give up. I threw out all the junk food in my house so I won't have them calling my name at night. LOL, Good luck, Ann emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm the same way sometimes. An emotional eater AND closet eater I suppose- It's easier/more common if nobody is around because then I don't have to feel guilty in front of them. Mostly I just try to keep myself busy. I tell myself "If you still want that after you do the dishes and fold the laundry then you can have it". More often than not i've forgotten by then. Staying busy helps keep me from overeating and burns more calories so how can you beat that?! Good luck with staying binge free!!

emoticon I have been known to do the same thing, Over and over I say I am not hungry, I do not need to eat. Then I eat whatever just to prove to myself I can eat anything I want whenever I want. Than I suffer, beat myself up, feel sleepy and depressed. After three weeks of that a few months ago I had to stop. I have been binge free for over 2 months now. Next time your want to eat MAKE PRETEND YOU ALREADY ATE IT! Have a big glass of water and beat yourself up for eating it even though you really didn't OR you can be proud of yourself you had control. It is all a mind game. Good luck and keep blogging on how it is going. emoticon
