Week Two

Today started the second (and last) week of the Rootin' For Ruby Totally 80s Challenge. As a Cabbage Patch Kid I have had an amazing team walking beside me on this journey. When this challenge started I thought ' Two weeks isn't long. I probably won't accomplish much.' But I have found out that this short two week challenge has been just the thing to re-ignite my spark. I am so close to my final goal. And I have been this close for months. But I would find myself thinking "Oh, that pizza won't hurt just this once" or "Those Cheetos can't possibly do that much damage". But It did hurt and there was damage and I have lost and found the same ten or so pounds over and over for months. You have heard me say it in the past "This time I am going to make it". And then I would fail. But I realize now that to lose those last pounds and keep them off, I need to totally stick to the Life Style Change. Because, you know what? That is what my life is going to be from here on out. And I can live with that. So if it takes me a couple months to lose those last ten or fifteen pounds, well, I know that it will happen. And then I will celebrate. Not in the manner of our culture by going out to eat, but by going out and buying a whole new ward robe. I can hardly wait.
Thanks Ruby Lite friends. Thanks Spark People. Without you I would never have any hope of getting there.

    What a wonderful blog... I feel the same way... I was 1.5 pounds from my goal and I did the same thing.. oh that piece of cake won't hurt... and honestly it didn't it was the piece the next day and the other junk the day after that for a whole week... well now I have more that those 1.5 to go and its going on week 3... theres 4 weeks in a month.. what have I been thinking... who blows it that close to goal??? ME.... well today is a great day and I'm very proud of you Arlene you are working so hard and making such great progress.. we have always said that we start these things out strong then falter.. maybe the key is lots of short challenges.. that way we start of strong and its over before we falter...LOL have a great day ...
