The Scale Fluctuation.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

For one week I'm going to post my weight every morning. I know you are not supposed to weigh everyday blah blah blah but I am sure my particular scales do in fact know when weigh day is. I weigh at the same time, same conditions. This is frustrating because my evil scales tend to weigh me heavy every weigh day and lighter every other day...

Is this my imagination?

We shall see...

I was going to start this yesterday so will start from weigh day to today!

Mon (Weighday)
= 64.2 kg
Tues (Day AFTER weighday)
= 63.6 kg
Wed
= 63.7 kg

Very frustrating but am looking forward to proving my theory right!!

ps. I am not a cheater so only enter my weight from weighday :)

I'm frustrated with my scale too. If I don't stand on it just right it weighs heavier (and it's electronic!). There are just so many factors in weighing. I can't weigh when I'm fully dressed because my clothes can weigh between 1-3 lbs, or when my hair is wet--that adds an extra pound (literally have tried to find the difference and that was it). I think weighing daily once in awhile in a good idea. It would drive me nuts always doing it, but as a check system occasionally? Great! Good luck this week on your experiment! :-)

The Scale is an evil measurement! Once a week, if that, on Fridays, after a week of discipline - I make up for weekends during the week.

Muscle weighs more than fat, and takes up a lot less room!

How do you look in the mirror? How do your "tight clothes" fit now? How do you feel?

Keep on the path - I love the look of your fridge background - good stuff!

Keep your priorities straight, do your best, and I wish you well... emoticon

I weigh myself every day at the same time and same conditions and do believe it fluctuates especially on weigh in day.

But inches lost is also a good sign, if i remember to do it monthly.

haha are you calling me compulsive or egotisical...or both??

Just jokes - I am thinking that maybe on the weekend I may eat more sodium (or alcohol) and it makes Monday a bad day for weigh-in but I am determined and if Monday is my worst day then so be it - gotta make it work for me - guess that is what you were saying anyway right.... emoticon

I weigh myself every day at least once, and yes, fluctuations happen. But I only write it down once per week, Fridays, and I've become a pro at making weight. Thursdays I do tend to eat fewer calories than any other day and I make sure to get plenty of water up until about 10 p.m. On Friday morning weigh-in days, I make sure it's first thing in the morning, after ablutions and stark naked (see my latest photo... just kidding).

I've done this before back in college for wrestling tournaments, so it's not only fun for me it's nostalgic. Besides, weighing yourself every day at least prevents you from having those periods when you overeat three or four days consecutively and lose track.

Like you, I only enter my weight from my weigh-in day. And even though it hasn't happened (and with one week to go to my target weight, I'm hoping it won't ever happen) were I to wake up and find myself a pound or less within goal weight, I'd put on my plastic sweat coat and hit some cardio for 30 minutes or more until I sweat it off and make weight -- just as I used to on the wrestling team.

Yeah, it's compulsive or at the very least egotistical... probably both. But it's working for me and it'll probably work for you.
