Learning from Mistakes or...

Living for them?

I have noticed a pattern (again YAY for SP trackers!!) which concerns me a little.

I seem to do really well for a good few weeks then I eat a whole pizza. Hmmm. Usually it is a combo deal of hungover and lazy(real reason)/tired (public excuse) and then for the next few weeks I use this binge to motivate myself. I'm beginning to realise that this is not a healthy way to learn from your mistakes - really I am living for my mistakes.

What I mean by that is that my weight loss centres around pizza. I don't even like pizza that much!! (It's the only food I can get delivered to my door). I eat it and then I have to work it off. I'm sure this is not the right way to do it - but it does seem to work for me.

Well now I know It appears I have more work to do :)
Only 3.1kg to goal - yeehaa!!!
ps. I am still going to be lurking about rather than hugely active until after finals and thanks to all my SP friends who are being supportive and sticking around while I am lying low :)

I concur, recognizing the pattern is sometimes half the battle. I recognize patterns like that in my diet as well. I tend to still reward myself with food, when I do well, which is silly. There are so many more fun things I can reward myself with! You'll do fine, even though I know it is frustrating. Maybe try and be wasteful next time you order. I hate to waste food that I've purchased, but sometimes I know it has to be done. If I gorge on half a pizza and start feeling bad, I then throw out the other half so that I can't keep eating it.

Even I won't pick things out of the garbage to eat.

Speaking of not-so-active, I'm catching up on an older blog right now. ;-)

Now that you've noticed the pattern and blogged on it, next time you're tempted to order pizza, you'll be even more aware of how it'll fit in your tracking. Brilliant!

You asked about my furniture moving status -- I'm on a big project of cleaning up my mother's house after she moved to a flat. Fifty years of stuff donated to charity, and getting ready for auctioning bigger things. Thanks for asking!

I hope you do great on your finals, hon. I know you will.

Well, at least you're recognizing a pattern. Now you can figure out how to deal with it.

And good luck on finals!!!! We understand your not-so-active-status.

If you know pizza is a trigger, how about coming up with a healthier alternative? Keep pizza dough, sauce and cheese on hand and throw together a smaller one. Or, lean cuisine makes a pretty tasty single serve (at least they did when I was still eating dairy). It's ok, you aren't doing it everyday.
