Spedies are cubed pieces of meat (pork, beef, lamb and even chicken) marinated and grilled. They are very popular in our area to the point that every year now we have a Spedie Fest which consists of cook offs to determine the best in multiple categories. The fest also has hot air balloon launches and musical performances. It is quite the event.
Many times when we have guests at work from other states we purchase lunch which consists of Spedies, salad and salt potatoes. I’ve also learned that salt potatoes are not available in all areas. Most people eat the spedies on Italian bread, but I prefer to make a salad and top the salad with them.
Ironically, this morning after I prepared my lunch I wished I had made a salad instead. Lucky for me today we had guests and there were leftovers of both salad and spedies. I changed my plans and built myself a salad!
This all lead to a Food blog and a salad meal which gives me more points for my trick or treats Challenge! That and my favorite fitness instructor allowed me to join her class tonight since we didn’t have ours on Monday because of the holiday. All in all everything worked out well!
I hope your day worked out for you!
