Been gone for a long while- but I have some new goals so I am back

After a long year I have completed my pre-requisites for nursing school, obtained some funding, and was accepted into a RN program for the Spring. The program will start on January 10, 2011 and will last for 16 months.

I find myself slightly heavier than when I first started here several years ago, so that is disappointing. However, now that I have some concrete goals ahead of me I am finding that I have motivation to get healthy. I don't want to be the heavy nurse that is trying to help people become healthier, and who is a walking contradiction.

I have started with the Home Cuisine program which is pre-made fresh, healthy food that comes to 1200 calories a day. I am hoping it helps to switch the focus from being emotional and entertainment to just fuel. I am also committed to getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a day.

My ultimate goal is to be down to a healthy weight by the time I graduate from RN program.
