I LOVE going to the movies and I used to be really bad about eating at the threatre as well, but I've gotten to where I've stopped.

1. it saves money
2. it saves calories!

HOWEVER... I'm going to see Harry Potter tonight during dinner time (I'm gonna be hungry) and it's a 2.5 hour movie and we'll get there early for good seats...or atleast a shot..

any suggestions?

    2. I ended up going to Subway and then taking the 10 yards of paper off my sandwich and putting it in a ziplock. Took that and my bottle of water and my "movie purse" and had a great healthy time! :)

    I get popcorn with no butter. My dtr saw the movie last night at midnight. She said is as FANASTIC!!

    We never eat at the movies. We just eat before or after. I do sneak in some mini babybels, mixed nuts and sugar free hard candy!

    I can't see HP until next week. I can't wait!!!

    I like the trail mix idea! I hadn't thought of that. I take flavored rice cakes with me when I get a chance to sneak away to the movies, or those 100 calorie snack packages.

    Gah...I haven't been to the movies in a loooong time but I'll just throw a few ideas out!

    1.Eat a light meal before.

    2.Healthy Sneak-ins: Try a healthy homemade trailmix with a few m&m's so you don't feel too deprived and cave. The nuts will keep you full and the dried fruit will give you vitamins (something that is difficult to come across with theater food). Those popcorn boxes seem harmless but a large tub usually has more than 1000 cals!Just remember, when you hear everyone crunching around you, that is is going straight to the belly!

    3. Drink: A diet, clear soda or...even better, WATER!

    A surefire winner (if you are not opposed to sneaking food into the theater) is a portion of trail mix. The fiber and protein will make you feel full, and the occasional M&Ms make it still seem like a treat. I buy the big bag of HEB's "Hit the Trail" mix which is only 150 calories for a 1/4 cup serving. If you do settle on this option, you will have to look for it on the bottom shelf - they kind of hide it so that you will buy the pricier brands instead!
