The best laid plans...

I really planned to control myself during Thanksgiving. Really, I did.

But, I didn't. I held my portions down much lower than years past, ignoring things like dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, had only one tablespoon or so of gravy and the like. I ate a lot of vegetables, the green and orange kind. Still, I ate way beyond what was intended.

Thankfully, I had prepared for this and had upped my exercise regimen in the days prior, so I had a bit of elbow room.

This morning, though, I got up and just wanted to eat, eat, eat. Sluggishly, I forced myself to do a very demanding strength exercise routine, then went out for some quick walking for several miles.

I know that a lot of people say that losing weight is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise. While this might be true physiologically, the opposite holds true with me.

If I exercise, I just naturally fall into wanting to be fit in every way.

Just trying my best to get back on track. Yesterday is behind me. Today is a whole new world.

    It is easy to be tempted by comfort food during the holidays. When we are unhappy or missing loved ones, we want comfort food to make us feel better. When we are all happy and on that good food high, we want comfort food to keep us high. You only ate ONE tablespoon of gravy? You are an oak!
