Las Vegas Rock N Roll 1/2 Marathon!

Back from Vegas! I had fun and it was definitely an experience!

Travel - there and back was flawless, and oddly stress free (I used to travel for work for a living - for a while there the word "Airport" gave me panic attacks lol), but we had no real lineups, no problems at either US or Canadian customs and all our bags made it where there were supposed to be.

Hotel - Luxor - Decent, was impressed at first, but then as I saw other hotels/casinos I was kinda meh on it, found ourselves spending most of our time at the Excalibur or beyond. No real complaints, but would probably try something else next time. Really close to race start, so that was a serious PLUS.

Food - Had a really great (and reasonably priced) post race steak and beer that the Steakhouse of Camelot at the Excalibur, otherwise none of the places we ate really stood out. We had a big Lunch at the Luxor with some Sparkers, 20 or so of them from all over the country, and then a dinner with some fellow Running Room buddies from Calgary.

Race - Finished in 2:35:01, not bad considering I haven't ran more than 10k since October. I actually felt pretty good most of the race, just wish I was better prepared :) Nice big shiny Medal, great shirt, and a beer at the finish :D, oh I guess there was a concert too, but Penny can tell ya all about that.

Shows/Entertainment - We hit up The Tournament of Kings, which I really enjoyed. I got an ENTIRE chicken to myself (ok, ok, it was a cornish game hen and the size of my fist... but it was MINE, all MINE) hehe... We also hit up Bodies, which was interesting, Shark Reef, which was kinda cool, and CSI: The Experience, which is kinda fun.

All in all a great trip, glad I went, but it sure is nice to be home :)
