Has it been a year?

Monday, January 10, 2011

So, I don't believe in New Years Resolutions. I get the whole fresh start thing and the resolve to have a better year this year than last. But I think that NYR's are often a source of resentment and stress. I guess as an excuse to take a look at your life for the last year and reflect it works, but often people set goals that are overwhelming or unreasonable. I'm not a fan of setting myself up for failure. With that said, here I am again in the beginning of January logging back into SP, realizing how little I accomplished in the last year. Everyone around me is gung-ho to lose weight this year. I'm jumping on the bandwagon while it's still moving. Then I have partners in this adventure. Everyone starts strong in the beginning of the year. The trick is to keep it going. My goal is to make it 30 days of being active on SP. In 30 days, I'll make a goal to make it another 30 days. My goal is to make progress. I don't care how big or small, I will celebrate my successes and not beat myself up over my missteps. Progress is my theme this year.

I totally understand not wanting to make huge goals and get overwhelmed. I joined the 28-day Boot Camp Challenge - 1 strength video and 10 mins of cardio a day for 28 days. I think it will be a great way to kick off the year, and the results will give me the motivation to keep going. You might want to check it out.

You can do it, GCB!!! We totally got dis ;) ... partnership is totally where its at - without good friends and a solid support system, it is so easy to fall off fast. But not this time - you and I have each other!!!
