Travel Day

Yesterday I flew to Kansas City. It was a MUCH longer day than anticipated! My uncle is a pilot, so I was flying on one of his passes. (WooHoo, free travel)
Usually, I have no problems getting out of San Antonio on Stand by, it's usually getting out of Dallas that is the issue *with passes, you fly stand by* However, yesterday was a completely different story. And I didn't even think about it, but because of the All American Bowl, that place was pretty packed! All flights were pretty much booked solid. Lucky for me, I had my Ipad to keep me entertained.
So, I was put on the list and flight after flight took off. DH got me to the air port about 8:30ish and I was told around noon that all the flights were booked solid until the 5:30 flight. ugh! HOWEVER... they ended up putting me on a flight to Nashville with a connection to KC about 2! That would a long round about way! The first leg of the trip was good... and the Nashville airport was very nice. FYI. If you get stuck there, you can get your nails done and a massage. SCORE. However, I didn't get stuck there. I was there for a little less than an hour. Just enough time to get some grub and report back to the gate.
The second leg of the trip... I needed some whiskey. Not for me, for the 4 yr old in back of me screaming and kicking my chair for TWO HOURS. Thank goodness for my Ipod. I didn't hear too much of the screaming and never ending questions the whole flight, but the kicking... well, I tired to laugh about the ridiculousness of it. But also really wondering if I could con the flight attendent to add some whiskey to the kids juice box. Geeezzzz.
The good thing is, my luggage was right there waiting for me in Kansas City. Didn't have to wait a half hour to get it. SWEET. Got to my parents house and woke up to a few inches of snow. I'd say there's a good 3-4 inches right now and it's still falling.
Let's see if I remember how to drive in the snow. LOL
