Today was one of those days. I felt like I wasn't running on all cylinders this morning. Not really tired, just a little out of sorts. I had trouble concentrating, I felt flushed, had waves of nausea, and my head was ache. I turned on some of my yoga music in my office, made myself some chamomile tea and got busy making a 'to do list' to keep myself on track for the day. My to do list had both work related items and personal items on it. Things for my work day and after. It felt good to have that list to help keep me focused. I felt so productive. I still wasn't feeling amazing, but I was more focused.
Today was a day that I teach yoga during my lunch hour. As is typical, once I stepped on that mat I felt amazing. The more time I spend teaching yoga, helping people set up goals, help them set up a training plan to hit those goals, etc. . . . the more I love it . . . and the harder it is to get up and go to my office job. I want to do more of what I love. I want to have more time to do it. I am ready to make the transition. Even though it will mean a significant decrease in my pay. I have a time line in the not to distant future and I am excited. After yoga I felt amazing and returned to my office to eat my lunch and check some more things off the list.
After work I went back to the gym to run 4 miles on the treadmill. I felt great! Beyond great as I was leaving the locker room, I skipped down the corridor toward the gym. It feels good to be light enough to skip. It feels amazing to have knees that are healthy enough to skip! I was having one of those superb 'life is good' moments! I hopped on the first treadmill in the room, the only one available. This is not one of my favorite treadmills, I don't care for the adjustment style or read out style of this machine. But it is what it is. So, I set off on my run. An amazing run! I felt great! My pace was fast (relatively). In the second mile I increased my pace even more and it felt easy. After the second mile I was dripping with sweat and there were no gym towels. I needed to go get a paper towel from the bathroom, so I stopped my treadmill. As I get to the back of the treadmill platform, the belt started for some reason right as I stepped one foot down to the floor. It happened so fast I didn't have time to react. I got thrown into the step platform, banging my shin. It hurt so bad I wanted to cry. I limped out of the gym toward the bathroom, while the gym attendant when to get me some ice. Long story, short, my shin has two large goose eggs on it and it's black and blue. I did not finish my run. Good news, there doesn't seem to be any structural damage. I didn't twist my ankle or my knee. My shin is sore, but it will heal.
Let's get to the good part! Food!!!! Love good food! I actually look forward to my next meal just because I love combining flavors and textures.
Breakfast!!!! 1/4 cup Steel Cut Oats cooked with 1 cup of water + 2 TBSP. PB2 + 1/2 Red Apple = Delicious! I also made a chocolate shake with a little instant coffee . PB2 is a peanut product that is dehydrated taking out some of the fats in the peanut, but leaving all the flavor!
Snack!!!! Dannon Non-Fat Greek Yogurt + 1/4 cup Bear Naked High Peak Granola + 1 protein shake = Satisfying!
Lunch Time! Steamed Veggies + 4 oz. Pork loin = So Yummy!
Dinner! 1/2 a Sweet Potato + 4 oz. Turkey Sausage/onion/peppers + Steamed Broccoli = Perfect!
I did not take a picture of my afternoon snack. It was 1 hard boiled egg + 12 almonds + 1 chocolate shake.
Daily Calories = 1,870
Protein = 201.9 grams (44%)
Fat = 55 grams (27%)
Carbs = 131.2 grams (29%)
Exercise compliance 90% since I could not finish my last two miles
Food compliance 100%
I am well within my calorie range today, even with the decrease in my exercise.
