back pain still here

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

i have been dealing with this since September I was out of work for 10 weeks, but had to go back because we need the money. I still hurt every day, but today i got up and did a biggest loser video. I try not to take my pain meds, because they make me groggy, my pain center dr called in some patches but they were 160$. No way can I do that. They are getting fed up at work because i have to keep calling out. But at the same time they expect me to work 50-60 hours a week and my back will not allow it. I am looking for a nursing job with less lifting and better hours but I have not found it yet. I am tired of hurting and want my life back i have had 3 steroid injections and they seemed to be working until igot this last one and it made everything worse i am gaining weight back and feel crappy, but i am going to start out slowly by exercising 10 mins a day and i have already stocked up on bottled water

I have been going to a physical therapist when mine flares up. but if you go to often the insurance companies try to raise your rates and your boss won't want to keep you.

But inbetween I do yoga stretches several times a day and I use
rub on pain lotion and pain patches they sell in the drug store for $1-10 they don't make you foggy either.

You can also use ice packs for 10-15 minutes at a time.

If you take perscription pain pills they can charge you with a dui that is why they have those warning tags on the bottles to relieve themselves of liability

If it is to painful to stretch take up swimming your body is almost weightless and the water makes it easier to move

wishing you much success in getting past your pain and on with your life

I was sorry to read about the back pain you've been having. I recently started having lower back pain as well and can very much sympathize with how much it affects everything each day. I'm fairly sure that mine was caused by weight gain and am crossing my fingers that it will resolve as I become stronger and more fit. When I can't stand it, I'll take half of a Flexeril because the half-life is so long and it wipes me out! I'll be sending healing vibes your way! Have you tried accupuncture or massage? Shiatsu massage has helped me with the pain quite a bit :-)
