My scale is PMSing!!!

Saturday, January 29, 2011

I had a fabulous time last night meeting up with some Spark babes! :)

... HOWEVER... I got on the scale this morning, as I do about every morning and I had gained two pounds! WTH! I went on a long walk yesterday and didn't eat THAT bad! So, I figure my scale is PMSing and just screwing with me. And then I had a thought. I know I retain water when I'm PMSing, but what about ... when I'm ovulating? Wouldn't that be a nice little sign from the body. I did some searching, and sure enough! Who da thunk! I'm sure millions of people know this, and maybe everybody reading this is going "DUH!" but it's my blog and my revelation!

So now... I have two times a month that I'm gonna feel disappointment on the scale! Good news is, we're TTC, so super helpful info to have, Bad news... one more reason to gripe during the month.

OH SARAH! I know what you mean! About a month ago I found myself searching the same thing and finding the same answers. How crazy? Why weren't we ever taught this!?!?! GRRRRR!

As much as that may be a bummer, aren't you glad there is an explanation? WHEW!

You just be your pretty and sweet self and DO NOT let the hormones get you down. We're LEGENDS in EPICS, after all!

Gail, if I am not mistaken it means "trying to conceive".

Sarah, gripe all you want about the twice a month gain, but as a menopausal woman I can say "hurrah" I don't deal with that, but I also don't have it as an excuse when the scale fluxuates on me. I can't wait until you are on your way to becoming a mommy. I can tell you will be a loving, fun parent. The way you jumped into action last night when Elva's baby girl urped up on the floor made me smile. You handled it like an old pro. You rock!

OK; I'm 62 and post menopause, but what the heck is TTC?

Best regards to you on your EPIC and "TTC" journey.

I know how you feel! I am going through the same thing. Although we had decided to ttc and then we decided to wait now. Although I am not on anything and havent been since Aug. I keep bouncing between 176 and 172.

Sometimes being a woman is so frustrating, beautiful, but frustrating. When it was written that due to the Eden fiasco women would know the pain of childbirth, it didn't say anything about water weight/bloating, cramping, moodiness, headaches, craving carbs (maybe that's just me) or any other thing that comes along with it, but, eh, what can you do right. The results of it all are so worth it. And good luck TTC!!!

Don't ever let 2 lbs stress you out, its not worth it and it can be lost just as easy. But at least you found a good reason for that number on the scale.
