I'm looking forward to February!

Even though we are in the deep of winter here in upstate NY I am finding myself looking forward to February. For one I have my Spark Anniversary in the middle of February. I'm proud to say I've been at this for a year now and even though I've been a little stuck in my weight loss - ok a little is an understatement - I'm still happy I have made many positive changes.

I'm setting some new goals for this month and hoping they get my weight loss journey moving again. My exercise has improved, but I have found during these last couple of months that I have talked myself out of working out when I should have done something. I will make a goal to do at least a small workout everyday during this month. I do struggle with that all or nothing mentality - I will do at least 10 - 15 minutes on those days I want to do nothing! I do think this is from the winter blahs. I have rearranged my workout room so that I can even do my new weighted hoola hoop that I got for Christmas. I thought I would have to wait until spring, but I moved my recumbent exercise bike a different direction and made enough room. The hoola hoop should help me get rid of more of my pouch! I must measure!

I am also cutting out my bad snacking which has gotten out of control the last two months. It is time to get back to those almonds and carrots with hummus. All those very tasty nutritional treats that I love - no more chocolate candy... I've been very weak when it comes to my poor choices. emoticon emoticon

I also need to get my portions shrunk back down. I'm ok with this, but there is room for improvement .

I am looking forward to losing this month!

    I have the all or nothing mentality as well. It's so hard especially on the exercise for me. I do really good for awhile then something will get me off track then things go downhill fast. Up and down, up and down...that's how it seems to go. We CAN do it! We WILL do it

I struggle with not eating enough calories by the time dinner rolls around and then I'm like a scavenger in the kitchen trying to get in enough fiber or protein, then I OVER DO it. I just need to plan better.

    How cool that you figured out a way to rearrange so that you can use your new hula hoop! Having something new to do can help.

    Val, I feel like it's me talking. I too did great until December, and then... we can blame it on holidays or just colder winter months, right?

    February was our month last year for setting a commitment with SP and a big start in a great direction. There is no reason it can't be our month this year again. My positive vibes are your way to stay committed and focused. Your progress has been amazing during 11 months. With your great attitude towards positive changes you've made, I know you will keep on going strong!!!
