Baby Steps

Yesterday, before leaving the house for two MD appointments in a trip to NY that took all day, I did my PT exercises...and even used the resistance band which was a bit more resistance than the PT had used on our last appointment (which actually was almost a week ago, because he- my homecare physical therapist - sort of disappeared)...and then I worked on upper body using band s and dumbbells and did a little bit with the core...for a total of about 35-40 minutes. Make no bones about it...those PT exercises are TOUGH and hurt like heck! lol ...but it still felt good to get into the swing of things again. And now, I should probably get my aching body off of this bed and to work on TODAY"s exercises instead of just gloating over yesterday's!

But just a quick note here about my eating.
I've really not been following any meal plan or set any calorie limits or ANYTHING. But rather have been eating "intuitively" but being much governed by what food has been available to me...being unable to get to the store etc. So a lot of the time, I will eat a hand ful of raw carrots and hummus...and that 's Lunch! or a yogurt and some berries: whoa-la! Breakfast! Dinner has been tough...often being skipped or a bowl of cereal. But because my intake of calories has not been high...if a treat comes my way....like a plate of ziti brought over by a friend or even a bagel or sweet roll, I won't hesitate to indulge. My question is: is this "Intuitive Eating" or just plain "poor planning"??? Overall, everything I'm eating is "healthy"...just maybe not the best balance or the best consistently thought out and managed... I think really it is better called "EATING BY THE SEAT OF MY PANTS"

Hmmm, Maybe you need to ask a friend to come over once per day until you get a little more settled - help to get a little better food arranged for you, and the company might be good, if at all possible. If not, Eating by the seat of your pants may just work. Take care~

I like the phrase......"Eating by the seat of my pants"........sometimes we just have to do what we have to do.........The foods may not be balanced but substantial. You will get back on track with eating and you will see that everything is going to be just fine.
Have a good weekend and keep up the great job.
