...thanx to my fellow Sparklers. Your responses to yesterday's blah blog have helped a lot. So today I came back with a vengeance, lol.
Although everything looks fairly wrecked right now (Himself practically needed smelling salts) I made a lot of headway. I've got three large boxes of goods for the local charity shop, plus six grocery bags of clothes and assorted 'soft stuff.' I also have one tote of 'keeps' loaded and labelled. Meanwhile, he started tackling the yard, so yah, we can do this.
We also made up a list today of things we want to get done before the show starts: new faucet in the kitchen, replace one of the bathroom light fixtures, some things like that. I don't think there's anything major (time-consuming / expensive) that will need doing. It is what it is (!) but after I've sorted, boxed, and removed, I will have a cleaning crew come in and polish it from top to bottom. I don't think it will cost that much, and I'm hoping it will show the house to its best advantage.
The crocuses have already been out, as I think I wrote a week or two ago, and the daffodils look as though they are ready to start any day. Forsythia is well along. Depending how things go, people might see the yard when the azaleas start blooming - I'm not a garden-person in the sense of working in the yard, but I do enjoy colorful flowers. Our yard puts on a lovely show in springtime.
Tomorrow: appointment with realtor to sign the listing agreement, and perhaps we will go line up a storage unit. Oh, and I have to go see what I can find to follow thru on BakerBarb's suggestion, lol...
I hear 'Dear Prudence' from the other room, so it's off to a few minutes of Beatleband before bed.
Goodnight, Sparklers, wherever you are - and again, thank you for your encouragement! What would I do without you?
