Forgot my weigh in

Saturday, March 12, 2011

I have a love-hate relationship with my scale. Those numbers hold so much power. After our house burned down, I debated for months about getting a new scale. I finally couldn't stand it and bought one. I have been weighing on Fridays. I put the scale out Thursday night and anxiously anticipate the (hopefully) smaller number on the scale. This week something changed though. I forgot all about my weigh in. I bought clothes in a smaller size this week and really noticed for the first time that my old clothes are hanging on me. I can feel muscles in my legs, though there is still PLENTY of fat and cellulite covering them. I can see muscles in my arms and shoulders starting to define. I know that I am on the right track and everything tells me so. I'm sure I will weigh next week. But, I did feel a small victory in not allowing those dang numbers to dictate how I feel about myself and my weight loss journey. I'm going to overcome my weight. I'm going to be healthier. I will do this!!! emoticon

Awesome!!! As long as we're doing what we're supposed to be doing the weight will come off, scale or no scale. Oh and congrats on your smaller clothes! emoticon

Have a great week. I bought new clothes yesterday--I have another round of interviews this week, and I realized that my old clothes now look like a clown suit. We're making progress!
