My Ephiphany

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

I weighed in this morning only find that I have lost more emoticon My illness over the weekend as awful as it was really helped me to kick-start my plan. I barely ate anything Saturday and Sunday just a bit as I wanted to make sure my body wouldn't reject. So I have been doing the same every day since.

Last night I went straight from my day job to my night job. When I realized that I was hungry, I asked my daughter to bring me a salad. She said that McDonald's salads are not healthy and talked me into a McChicken. I told her to get it without mayo on the whole wheat bun. She forgot the bun but I ate it anyway. When I went to log it, I looked up the salads and decided that she was mistaken. Must be that she was thinking of salad with the dressing....doesn't matter...over and done with and I still was under my range for the day.

I feel like I am well on my way to success. My biggest concentration is going to be my intake. I asked a friend who works with a trainer what she recommended and she told me that weight loss is 80% intake and 20% fitness. Honestly, I always thought it was more about the fitness than the food. Thinking back, I'm pretty sure I came up with that idea from a lady at my hair salon who I overheard saying that she works out so that she can eat what she wants. Granted, this lady is a teenie tiny itty bitty probably size 2 or 4. Her philosophy works well for her since she is at her ideal weight. For someone heavy, like me, I need to concentrate more on my intake in order to reach my desired weight. Changing this mind-set and coming to the realization of why I can't seem to succeed feels like a big bolder has been moved from in front of me.

I've always liked the saying "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels" but I have a hard time REALLY feeling that way. I believe that I now have a new perspective and TRULY believe that statement. I will win this battle once and for all!!
