Being tired makes me eat more

I was so dead tired today. Like so tired that I couldn't get myself to actually do any work. So tired, in fact, that I don't know how my eyes are still open.

I tried to nap, but I have a really hard time winding myself down and letting myself have that rest. I did eventually start to drift off, but then someone knocked on the door, and that was the end of that.

So all day long, I've been craving food really badly. I've noticed that I get like this every time I'm tired. Instead of resting, which would actually help with my sleepiness, I reach for food. In particular, really starchy, sugary, fatty foods that I normally wouldn't eat much of.

I could so easily have gone overboard today, and I really really wanted to. But I managed to stick with it, and even have 100 calories left in my budget.

But I'm really tired, so I'm going to hit the hay early.

    Sleep deprivation is my top trigger for craving sweets too! Something to do with seratonin levels in the brain, etc.
    Good luck getting the sleep you need!
