New Beginnings

I'm sitting here this morning watching the wind blow the trees......the rain coming down, hard! Still seeing the birds at the feeder, even though it's raining. The black squirrel just raced across the yard, stopped to dig up a chestnut he'd hidden last fall....amazes me how they remember where they put them! The red buds on the little maple tree are getting larger every day, the grass is greener. I see daffodils, hyacinths blooming. The forsythia bushes are yellow, the lilac buds are starting to show. A time of new beginnings!!
The birds are claiming their territories for nests. One of our bluebird boxes has a little black capped chickadee starting to nest. The other bluebird house I think has been taken by a sparrow. Doggone, why can't the bluebirds fight for their nests? We see them fly in and out of them each spring, but always seems something else ends up with them. Still waiting for the swallows to show up. They're a little late this year. We get both tree swallows and barn swallows. Soon the barn swallow will be building its mud nest again. New beginnings!
We're expecting our 9th great grandchild, a little girl named Abrielle in just a few weeks. One of my spark friends just had a new granddaughter, Charlotte Grace, make her entrance after a very difficult and risky pregnancy for her mother. New beginnings.
Another spark friend is busy preparing for the second wedding in her family already this year. Both of her children marrying! New beginnings.
BLC16 just began this week......our team is so busy with many of our members from last round, several returning from previous rounds and also some great new members we are enjoying so very much! New beginnings.
Yes, spring is a time of renewal, of getting rid of the cold and dreary winter and welcoming the beauty and rebirth of a new season....both in nature and in our lives.
So, my friends - here's to "New Beginnings" for all of us and a wish for much success!!
