Gorgeous Teen (Yep you heard right!!)...

Quick check in - how is everyone?

I'm on a quick study break so thought I'd blog about my son.

He's gorgeous. He just made me dinner all by himself (he is 13 :)) and he made it as healthy as he could. He made Thai chicken yellow curry with a paste and lite coconut milk... It was delicious!! We laughed all the way through dinner which we haven't done in a while and I'm hoping he will continue this lovely teen business (not holding my breath however!!).

When I asked for measurements to put into my tracker he told me 1 whole chicken breast each! We usually eat one largish chicken breast between us for dinner I was lucky not to exceed my daily range for protein!! No wonder we struggled to eat it all... So I went over on my calories today but the look on my boy's face when he served dinner was so worth the extra :)

Then I discovered SP doesn't have lite coconut milk in the trackers... Um... why not? Normal coconut milk is RIDICULOUSLY high in fat and I don't think I have EVER cooked at home with it.

Hmmm maybe its a Kiwi thing??

Anyway - no exercise today either :( have to finish this schoolwork for tomorrow but will catch up tomorrow arvo on all my ST and go for a couple of walks...

Also big aftershocks are still hitting us hard here we have had 2 in the last week over 5.3! Last night at 3am we were woken by violent shaking but kept power so eventually went back to sleep... Oh also whoever schedules roadworks outside my house from 11pm-2am ought to be shot. I know they weren't expecting an earthquake but between them I didn't get my 8 hours sleep either!!

Oh dear - well at least I can control one thing - I WILL drink all my water today. Yup I will.

Your son is a better cook than me and I have 10 years on him! *pouts* He must have a fantastic teacher!

I've never once cooked with coconut milk. Maybe it is a kiwi thing?

    *hugs* regarding the aftershocks.

You know what I see here? I see a freaking great attitude. I see you rocking with you can and not letting what you can't get in your way. B/c YOU are a rockstar. We can't all do everything 100% of the time. But it's all about improvement, about doing things more right than we were before. Progress, not perfection. So I see a freaking FANTASTIC amount of progress and I'm so d@mn proud of you!

That's so sweet. I hope my boys will do things like that when they're older. For tracking the coconut milk did you try clicking on the food entered by other members? I sometimes find things in there.

What a sweet boy! Sounds yummy too! I love the "the look on his face" line, so sweet. I hate the middle of the night tumblers, they seem so much scarier (is that a word?) Hope you make it through class without falling asleep. Keep up the good work even when things get out of control.

Aww that's so sweet that your son cooked you dinner! I hope he keeps on being a thoughtful teenager too! I guess not all teens morph into that whole Dr Jekyll /Mr Hyde monster but I sure did! LOL Keep up the school work and continued thoughs and prayers to you all with the aftershocks. That's frightening!!!
