Did Something I've Wanted to Do

I live in the DC area and I know you know there are so many places to go. Many of the things that can move us are the numerous memorials.
In my college day went to the Lincoln Memorial and one of my fondest memories is sitting on the steps and watch the sun rise over the Capitol Building. Since then been there to visit Mr Lincoln for a number of reasons.
One can go on and on about the Vietnam Memorial, Korea, Memorial Honoring the Women in the Military, FDR and one of the newest WWII which I was thrilled to be part of the dedication weekend
When the Memorial to the Pentagon 911 victims was dedicated like many who remembered that day so vividly I wanted to go. The last 3 years I could have gone cause each weekend I have a small job that is near it. But somehow there were reasons things that seemed to more important that I never went After Ben Laden's death I certainly felt a need to be there. Today I made the point and yes like what a memorial was suppose to do it and it did make me think and what was especially moving is there is a wall where all the victims are listed randomly but next to each one is their birth year and yes there were children killed It is suppose to be unbelievably beautiful at night and someday I hope to go.
