The UV Project- Week 3- 6/14- 6/20

Take care of YOU!!
You work, go to school, take care of kids, relationships, friends, fit in workouts, etc.. but how often do you take time out for yourself? This week- focus on "you" time, and do some thing for yourself that YOU love to do.
~~I spent the weekend at the lake. Our family has a cabin that we can use and it’s the most relaxing vacation I’ve ever had. I played games with the kids instead of worrying about laundry and dishes. I went swimming and fishing. Good stuff.

Fruits and Veggies:
This week, try making a new meal using only fruits and veggies! Take a picture or post a recipe and share with the rest of us!
~~ I failed on this one. I only took what I had to the cabin and while that included fruits and veggies it was nothing new - happy fresh salad.

Cardio:
Burn baby, BURN! Rack of those fitness minutes by pushing cardio to the max. Get that heart rate pumping. Report back next week with minutes dedicated to cardio!
~~ I didn’t meet this challenge. Sure I swam and went for a walk while I was at the lake, and I did my jogging while I was at home, but I kind of took it easy this week. I only worked out 3 of my 6 planned cardio days and only 2 of those days were very intense.

Core:
In addition to your regular ST routine- this week you gotta really work that core. Stream a new video, grab a fitness magazine and kill it!
~~I did do some new ST this week and though it wasn’t very core focused there was a lot of stability ST so core was involved - I’m pleased with my ST this week!


Overall I had a really mellow week, but I think I needed to under do it this week. I started out normal - with a couple pretty intense runs but I took my cross training days off and I skipped my 3rd run for a swim instead. I’m ready to pick it up again but it was nice to have a rest. However in the future when I decide to have a rest week I will make better food choices. I didn’t fuel my body right and I would have had a really miserable time trying to perform if I hadn’t already planned on taking it easy. More on that in another post.
