Raining, but still outside looking at rocks

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

You read the title right, I was outside looking at rocks today. The class I'm taking in called Unearthing the connection between Earth and Physical Science, so it's about minerals, rocks, etc. Today we had a field trip to SF to look at the Falls and the Sioux Quartz rocks. The professor told us how they were formed and the different looks of the rocks due to other physical conditions. It may not sound overly interesting, but it was fun getting outside of the classroom, except for the constant drizzle. emoticon After lunch we headed to EROS and got a tour and listened to 3 different presenters. The tour was good, but listening to people talk nonstop for 2 hours was a little rough, just too long sitting and too hard not to drift off. emoticon

So even with the rain it was a good day. I got in my 45 minutes of Zumba this morning and I'll be getting up around 5 am to run 6 miles before class.

Hope you all had a wonderful day!! emoticon

One of the things I will miss about living in South Dakota is all the rocks I have collected! Not sure how many of those Sioux quartz rocks will make it into the rent a truck to be transported to Iowa! Hugs!
