Motivation oh where oh where could it be?

Friday, June 24, 2011

SO i've been doing this exercise and eating right thing for a month now. I lost ten pounds in a month and this week i lost 2lbs in 5 days. (I sometimes wonder if that is healthy or not but i digress).

You would think that that would be motivating and that seeing progress would be a good thing to keep me on the track. NO i havent fallen off of the wagon and no i haven't not been exercising, heck i did a 1:13:56 run on monday.

Right now i just don't want to care, it's not that i even don't like exercising, i actually do. I looked at the scale today and i was like oh well that's nice. 2lbs should be something i'm excited about right?!

So how can I keep motivated. Since apparently pounds melting off isn't doing it for me. The one thing that seemed to work for me when convincing myself to go for a run today was treat every 10lbs like the first ten pounds. It's always a new 10lbs to lose. So if i pout in the same amount of effort to lose the next 10 ( well 8) pounds will be easier. How do you keep everything fresh.

My doctor told me that when you are fully ready to lose weight then you will do it. Sometimes its not the right time in your life to lose weight. Maybe this isn't your right time as much as you want to lose weight. I was feeling pretty down yesterday and went back to my old eating habits but today I didn't let it ruin me I started back on my diet. I have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks which is good but I know Im going to start to slow down. If you are doing everything you should then you will lose weight. You may lose a lot now but you will plateu when you lose nothing. To keep me motivated I wrote down goals. I did my every 15 pounds so when I look at it it doesnt seem to much to lose. I see only 15 pounds and go I can do this! Maybe you need something like that to help.

yea i think part of it is that I'm a perfectionist and i beat myself up forever mistake. The other part i think i thought it was going to be harder , i know that's horrible thing to say. so Maybe part of me is mad that I didn't start this sooner.

Oh Sweetie, you need to decide what is going to motivate you. I see that you have 116 pounds to lose according to your page. Pls excuse my bluntness but, do you want to lose or not? If you do, you are off to a great start! If you don't, perhaps you should just delay the start of your journey to a time when you are ready to journey...I've never said this before but if the actual weight loss that you experience in the beginning doesn't motivate you to continue, perhaps this isn't the time to embark on this journey. I would love if someone else sees a different point of view on your blog...would love for someone to "see" your inspiration...Blessings to you on this journey or not.
