Dozens of blown-down trees = big raking fitness minutes

A micro-burst blew down 24 trees onto 1/2 mile of our dirt mountain road while we were in the big city. We cut them enough to get the car through & get home to no power for 24 hrs. Then I raked (yep, raked) the road to remove shattered limbs, branches, and ga-jillions of pine cones. Another 20 blew down in the vicinity of the house (no damage -- we have cleared the trees around the house because of severe wildfire danger). We lost some magnificent aspens and a huge fir. Hundreds more fell on the BLM land adjacent to our property and on "my" hiking path....sometimes 3 trees deep. (A huge tree falls down on top of 2-3 other trees and they are stacked on the ground 3-4 deep).
I haven't attempted running a chain saw...because I LIKE my legs ATTACHED to my body. DH has medical "stuff" this week...and it will take a team of men & machines to pull the trees to where they can be delimbed & wenched out. Some are above our heads hanging over the road.
THEN I'll turn on my handy-dandy heart rate monitor & load the cut off limbs onto the forks of the DH-driven tractor to be hauled to the slash piles. When we're finished, I will be allowed to eat any darn thing I want because the calorie burn will be horrendous! Yay! Can't wait! (sorta-kinda...lol) Maybe the bull moose I saw yesterday with lend a hand!
